Quick Bathroom selfie. I am wearing Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Fiery. The pic doesn't do it justice it looks amazing and bright in real life. Definitely brown girl friendly.

And I totally forgot to shape my fro, i was so absorbed in the color i didn't realize the lil pieces sticking out lol.

Nyx Haul Part 2: Powder Blush

Hello Hello!

Part 2 of my Nyx Haul, and here come the Blushes :)

I couldn't help myself. I wasn't even looking for blush but hey, regular price is $5 and with 30% I paid $3.50 each one. Can't feel too guilty about that.

Excuse the awkward last pic but I ran out of room on my forearm from all the swatching lol. The blushes have a nice silky feel to them and a well pigmented, it just sucks that quite a few of them do not compliment my skin tone very well. But I do see potential using them as eyeshadows so we will see. 

Also i need to do a comparison swatch of Cinnamon and NARS Taj Mahal. It would be amazing if Cinnamon was a dupe for it.

Nyx Haul Part 1: Nyx Slim Lip Pencils

Nyx had a 30% of sale a couple of months ago and I used the opportunity to get a few lip liners I had been interested in.

I wear alot of Deep Reds and Purples so that was my focus.

L to R: Bloom, Brown Cafe, Burgundy, Fuchsia, Prune, Deep Purple (Natural Light)

(With Flash).

I really like the quality of Nyx products and they are sooo affordable, the lip pencils regular price is $3.50. Compared to MAC or even drugstore pencils that is a steal. They are well pigmented and even though they are not longwear pencils they stay on pretty well ( i had to use a little oil to clean up my arm after swatching).

Overall I am happy with all the colors I got :)

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick: Fiery, Besos, Amore

First I must say Stila is a brand I have often heard of but never really paid attention to and it has been my loss all this time. This particular product is AMAZING. If you don't like the feel of lipstick but want a lipcolor with high color pay off and durability then this is the product for you. Extra bonus: is it doesn't leave your lips feeling dry.

First up: "Fiery"

Second: "Besos"

"Besos" on the left, "fiery" on the right. They almost look the same but Besos is a brighter red:

Last but not least: "Amore"

Left to Right: "Amore", "besos", "Fiery"

As someone who prefers matte lipcolors I am completely happy with each of these colors and this product in general. Oh i forgot to mention, they smell like chocolate! :)

NARS "Persia" Eyeshadow

This is a gorgeous shade, one that i am not used to wearing so i will have to figure out how to wear it.

I believe this is what you would call a burnt orange shade, which is very complimentary on brown girls.

I piled it on and blended it out on my hand and it looks amazing if i do say so myself. It can be applied to give subtle color or built up on to stand out. 

Either way I can't wait to put together a look with it.

China Glaze "Starboard" Nail Polish Swatches

Without much ado, here is one of my fave summer colors to wear:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this deep green color, and it is a breeze to apply. This is two coats of polish:

Nice even application due to China Glaze's creamy texture. This is going to be on my nails for a couple of days :)

Stila Color Balm Lipstick - Ali

Hello! 

I actually bought this product on a whim as i was searching for swatches of "Besos" (a completely different Stila lip product). I saw a swatch somewhere and thought it was a pretty and subtle color. 

And i was right. First, it has a minty smell which is very subtle but pleasant. Much better than the cosmeticy smell other brands sometimes have. It goes on very smooth, and has a feel and texture of lipbalm moreso than lipstick; very light and moisturizing with a ever so slight tingle (probably the mint).

As you can see in the above swatch it has very good color pay off, it really looks (and is) a moisturizing lipstick swatch.

Overall I am very happy with my purchase and will be buying more!

NARS Larger Than Life Lipgloss in Como

This is just a quick post, I have quite a few things to review but haven't had the time as of late. I promised myself i would not let more than two weeks pass without posting and im in my third week now  >.< *slaps self on hand*

Well think of this as a filler post for the meantime until this weekend when i can do a meatier post as i have lots of goodies to talk about.

Lets get to it then:

 

We have to talk about this brush -___-

The brush is made of small stiff plastic feeling bristles and is not soft against the lips. I am quite disappointed in it because i have quite a few NARS glosses and they all have that soft velvety feeling applicator. I do not know why they chose to use these stiff bristles in this product but I don't like it at all.

It is a very soft and subtle pink color, great for summer. And although you can see gold flecks in the swatches they are not that visible in real life. Added bonus, you do not feel them at all. I hate glosses that have the little flecks you can feel (and see) on your skin especially as the gloss fades but this gloss has neither negative aspect.

Pretty much the only negative thing i can say about this gloss is the applicator is stiff and not very pleasant. Other than that I love it.

 

Swatch: Maybelline Fit Me Blush in Deep Rose

This is a quick post on a blush i picked up a few months ago from CVS for $6.59. I generally do not buy Maybelline products (don't ask me why, they just don't appeal to me) but i saw this color and thought it looked really pretty.

Here's a close up of the brush that comes with the blush:

I have to tell you, i had to swipe my finger across the pan a few times to get it to show this much against my skin. Here is what my finger looked like after running it across the pan 4-5 times before applying on skin:

So basically if you like a subtle matte rose blush that gives your skin a slight hint of color this blush is perfect. It gives the skin a natural look flush, and even if your heavy handed you can't go overboard with it.

 

MAC Cremesheen Lipglass in Narcissus and Pro Longwear lipcreme in Red Dwarf Swatches

Hellooo!

I haven't paid as much attention to MAC collections as i used to simply because it seems like there is a collection launched every other week and my wallet couldn't handle it lol. Also alot of the products seemed repetitous and only the packaging was new (my opinion, i may be wrong).

These two babies caught my eye however and i decided i had to have them. Without further ado let's start with Narcissus:

All the above pictures are taken in daylight with no flash. I love this color, its a pink/purpleish opaque color that definitely caters to my girly side.

Up next, Red Dwarf which is a "Pro longwear lip creme". I have recently been on a quest to find a red lipstick that i can fall head over heels over. Red Dwarf is not that lipstick, but it is a good start.

Definitely two great shades that i am going to be rocking on a regular basis.
