Post

Just some swatches of my fave colors for the summer

From Pinky to thumb: (all by Essie) Bacholerette Bash, Bermuda Shorts, MOvers and shakers, Anniversary Gala and Curtain Call.

Here's a solo pic of thumb since you cant see it well above:

eek! excuse my cuticles, i need a manicure badly. I used Sally Hansen Quik Dry top coat. It works very well (literally dries your nails in like 30 seconds!) but it's supposed to be chip resistant and it fails completely in that department. I've had chips show up the next day when i use it. I'm going to start using a top coat on top of it and see how that works.

Here go the colors in the bottles:

EOTD - Nyx Fuschia and Chaotic

So i finally got around to playing with my Nyx shadows and i came up with the eye below.

Since the pink was so bright i decided to temper it with the dark blue to bring it down a level. I'm sure that if i had primed my eye beforehand the colors would have shown up more vibrantly but i wanted to see if the look could be successful without foundation and primer as i'm always rushing in the morning and wouldnt have time for a whole routine.

Products used:

Nyx Chaotic (Blue) - Crease

Nyx Fuschia (pinkish purple?) - Lid

Nyx Oro (golden chrome) - Highlight under brow

L'oreal Lashout mascara - Black (waterproof)

Beauty Must Haves: Palmer's Cocoa Butter Lotion and body oil gel with SPF15

Hello chicas!

Every summer i switch from my usual routine of thick body butters and creams to my staple of Palmer's Cocoa Butter. It is the perfect product IMO; it keeps you well moisturized, provides a nice subtle healthy sheen to the skin AND helps fade any little scars you may have. All around winner right? The only thing it was missing was sun protection. Well guess what? The folks at Palmer's finally wised up and added SPF 15 to the product. YaaaY! Not only did they add it to the skin cream but they also added it to the body oil gel.

$8.50 each at CVS

Now i am not a big user of body oil but i used to use Neutrogena's body oil when i was younger (gaahh i feel soo old! :( ) and i liked how nice and shimmery it made my skin. The only drawback was the oil got everywhere even after you rubbed it in. The benefit of the oil gel is that it absorbs easier and leaves less of a residue on the skin. Much less of a hassle to deal with.

All in all between the 2 i am definitely set for the summer. Though they coud have a higher SPF, any SPF is better then nothing. And they both smell soo yummy, this guy in a store turned and said " you smell nice, like cookies".

Be ready for sugary compliments if you buy these products ladies.

Nail Polish Haul

From Left to right:

Movers and shakers (Essie), Bermuda shorts (Essie), Creme Brulee (Revlon), Chocolate Truffle (Revlon), Punchy Pink (Essie), Funky Limelight (Essie), Flirty Fuschia (Essie), Perky Purple (Essie).

Milani Black Magic liner and eye glimmer

Cute concept, not very well exceuted IMO. This is a double ended eyeliner, that has black on one end and a glittery creamy liner on the other end.

Now the whole concept is you liner your eyes with black, and then you trace over the black with the color end to create a glimmery green/black eyeliner.  I tested it out on my hand below:

Sorry for my crappy camera i am looking for a good one i promise. Anyhoo, the first line fromt eh top is the 2 liners mixed together. In this case its the black with a blue on top of it. Then i swatched the black and the creamy blue by itaself so you can see it. As you can tell the blue does not go on well by itself. i had to rub that spot 3-4 times to get that much color. The black went on in one swipe. When i applied the blue over the black it showed up much better and in 2 swipes.

Like i said good concept but they need to work on the product alittle better. I think if it was more creamy it would go on more smooth and not miss patches. I will continue using it but i don't love it. It's just ok.
